Bridal Need-to-Knows for a Stress-Free Wedding Morning
Written by: Gracie Gillis
On the morning of your wedding, you should be feeling all the things - excitement, joy, giddiness, etc - except stress. With all the little details that need to come together, it can quickly turn chaotic if you’re not prepared. Check out our tips below to kick start your wedding day with calm confidence!
1. Steam Your Dress Before Your Hair & Makeup Begins
This is one of the most overlooked details! Make sure your wedding dress is steamed and wrinkle-free before you sit down for hair. Steam can add moisture to the air, causing your freshly styled hair to frizz and fall. Pro tip: Assign this task to someone else! If they are getting their hair done, the same rule applies; however, it’s more crucial for your look to stay picture perfect all day.
2. Provide Any Hair Extensions or Accessories at the Start of Styling
If you’re planning to wear clip-in extensions, a hairpiece, veil, hair pins, or a decorative comb, have everything ready and on hand before your stylist begins. This ensures they can factor those pieces into the hairstyle from the very beginning - avoiding any miscommunication about the style or rushed placements.
3. Bring Inspo Photos for Hair & Makeup
Even if you’ve done a trial, having visual references is always helpful. Bring 2–3 photos of the exact makeup look and hairstyle you want - ideally from different angles and on people with similar hair texture or skin tone so your artists can visualize your vision. Clear communication and photos will help your beauty team create your dream look without guessing.
4. Wear Something Easy-to-Remove
Trust us - you do not want to ruin your fresh makeup or hair trying to wiggle out of a tight tee. Everybody loves a cute robe or button-up pajama set that you can easily slip off without disturbing your glam. Bonus: It makes for super cute “getting ready” photos, too!
5. Stay Hydrated & Have a Light Breakfast
With the excitement of the day ahead, eating and drinking might slip your mind. Keep water or a hydration drink nearby at all times and have a light breakfast with protein to keep your energy up and the hanger away. You’ll thank yourself later - especially if you’re sipping champagne with your bridesmaids! Pro tip: Keep a straw on hand so you don’t disturb your lip after your glam is done!
6. Keep Your Touch Up Kit Close
We provide all of our brides with a wedding day touch up kit to keep you looking fresh all night long! It contains a blotting paper for if you get oily, extra setting powder, extra lipstick, and an applicator. This kit will be your best friend, so make sure you give it to someone you trust to keep up with it!
7. Make a Wedding Morning Playlist
Your wedding morning sets the tone for the entire day, so make sure you have a playlist that will keep the vibes up! Create a fun and relaxing playlist filled with your favorite songs to keep you calm and the girls going. It’s a great way to ease any nerves, and let’s be honest - a dance break never hurt anybody.
8. Designate a Person to Keep Up With Your Phone
You’ve handled all the stress of wedding planning; let someone else stress on your special day! You don’t want to be answering calls or texts about delivery times or setup logistics while getting your eyeliner done. Choose a trusted friend, family member, or coordinator to handle any wedding morning questions so you can stay in your peaceful bridal bubble!
